Painting the walls

I've spent the past week or so painting small murals and designs on the walls of our new home - what fun! I haven't done much painting, and certainly never on my own walls, so this has been a wonderful experiment. Have a look...

This is the master bedroom

Dining room

Guest bedroom (and this one maybe the coolest, as it takes up an entire wall!)

And the downstairs bathroom.

I'll keep posting as I keep painting!

Springtime

In no more than a week, these
(lilac)

(quince)

(forsythia)

(apple)

(blackberry)

(something in the front yard I have yet to identify)

have turned into these
(same lilac)

(same quince)

(same forsythia)

(same apple)

(same blackberry)

(same unknown thing in the front yard)

And, in a preview of things to come, here is our
chicken coop to be
and our vegetable garden to be.

Our house is quite happy, and so are we.

Thank you Cynthia

They have been much more useful than I care to admit and I may even like them. What in the world would I do without you?

Welcome to our backyard

Spring is almost sprung in the Catskills, and I am here to capture it all.

Homecoming

After

and
we arrived at our new home! (I will be posting pictures of the house soon, must unpack first)

Griff helps unpack

We had a few friends waiting for us in our new home
and by 'a few' I of course mean hundreds! Have you ever seen so many ladybugs?

Cooking soup on the wood stove - how freakin cool.

Keeping warm by it too.

What an amazingly beautiful place we have come to. Each of these moments still feel like high adventure - cleaning out the future chicken coop, pulling weeds from the garden patch, making meals in the most fabulous kitchen, walking under more stars than I thought could possibly exist in one small piece of sky, baking bread, hiking in our own back yard, strapping down the lid of our garbage can to keep the neighborhood bears out - it is an adventure, to be certain. And I am loving every single moment of it.
